Puppy Plans

Puppies and Toddlers are remarkably similar.  I’m “borrowing” the pup of some friends this weekend, while they head to the big city for a wedding.  I’m pretty stoked for the puppy time.  Just like with a toddler, I am making BIG plans for el perro and me, to ensure that we both have a grand time. The plans are bizarrely similar to some of those I make for the kid at work.  Whatever, they are great plans and will work wonders.  Here is what I have so far:

.) Follow the schedule his “mom” emailed me.  (Toddler Appropriate)

.) Bake dog biscuits; he gets to watch and taste.  (Adaptable.)

.) Snuzzle (Toddler Appropriate.)

.) Watch Fraggle Rock (Toddler Appropriate.)

.) His “mom” roots for the arch rival team of his “dad” and my hearts.  Pup-pup’s going to wear a hat/visor.  There will be pictures.  (POTENTIALLY Toddler Appropriate.)

.) Have a playdate, with one of MY friends…who happens to have a new puppy. (Adaptable)

.) Share dog biscuits baked in #2 with puppy in #6.  (Adaptable, void if biscuits don’t turn out well.)

.) If Pupster listens to me and is generally controllable, we’ll go to the lake!  (Toddler Appropriate.)

.) Walk.  A lot.  (Toddler appropriate.)

.) Eat bacon.  (Toddler appropriate.)

.) Nap.  (Toddler appropriate.)

.) Walk down the street to get ice cream for me. Pup is only four months old, so too young to partake.  (Appropriate/Adaptable.)

.) Play outside A LOT when the weather is nice, play inside (wrassle?) when it does not cooperate. (Toddler Appropriate.)

.) Be on leash when not in my house/yard.  (Adaptable.)

.) Litter my facebook page with updates and a huge influx of pictures – probably an album. (Toddler Appropriate.)
